American sculptor. Malvina Hoffman was born into an artistic family that encouraged her early development. Her father was a renowned concert pianist and family friends and early mentors included the sculptors Gutzon Borglum (1867–1941), Herbert Adams (1858–1945) and George Grey Barnard (1863–1938).
