Lucas, David (1802–1881), mezzotint engraver, was born on 18 August 1802 in Geddington Chase, between Rushton and Brigstock, Northamptonshire, the eldest of seven children of Charles Lucas (1765/6–1852), farmer and grazier, and his wife, Sarah (1775/6–1849).
