// A Brief Introduction to Homeland Security Work

Show Summary Details

This chapter, which discusses the issues covered by homeland security work in the United States, suggests that there are two rough categories of homeland security work: daily task oriented work and context building. It provides examples of some of the questions facing practitioners, and introduces two important themes of coordination and information sharing/secrecy. The chapter also contends that understanding local homeland security is a fundamentally interpretive task.
