1264.

After Simon de Montfort's victory at Lewes in May 1264, he attempted to subdue Roger Mortimer and the marcher lords. On 12 December at Worcester, a compromise was reached whereby the lords were to go to Ireland for a year and a day, Prince Edward's possessions were to pass to de Montfort, but the prince was to be released. Everything was overturned by de Montfort's defeat and death at Evesham in August 1265.
