In a brief report in the December issue of the journal (Dasbach EJ, Davies GM, Teutsch SM. Burden of aspergillosis-related hospitalizations in the United States. Clin Infect Dis 2000; 31:1524–28), an error was made in the second sentence of the first paragraph of the main text. The published sentence, “The incidence of invasive aspergillosis in developed countries has increased because of increases in the use of chemotherapy for cancer and transplant surgery and as immunosuppressive therapy for autoimmune disorders,” should have appeared as follows: “The incidence of invasive aspergillosis in developed countries has risen because of increases in the use of (1) chemotherapy for cancer, (2) transplant surgery, and (3) immunosuppressive therapies for autoimmune disorders.” Also, in table 1, the column head “% of patients” should read “% of hospitalizations.” The journal regrets these errors.
