In an article published in the 1 July 2007 issue of the journal (Tihana Bicanic, Graeme Meintjes, Robin Wood, Madeline Hayes, Kevin Rebe, Linda-Gail Bekker, and Thomas Harrison. Fungal burden, early fungicidal activity, and outcome in cryptococcal meningitis in antiretroviral-naive or antiretroviral-experienced patients treated with amphotericin B or fluconazole. Clin Infect Dis 2007; 45:76–80), an error appeared in the second sentence of the last paragraph of the Results section. The percentages given for 10-week mortality are incorrect. The sentence should read “When comparing outcome in ART-naive patients with ART-experienced patients, 10-week mortality was similar (38% vs. 33%; P = .8), but 1-year mortality was significantly different (76% vs. 41%; P = .03) (table 1)” (not “When comparing outcome in ART-naive patients with ART-experienced patients, 10-week mortality was similar (33% vs. 38%; P = .8), but 1-year mortality was significantly different (76% vs. 41%; P = .03) (table 1).” The authors regret this error.
