In the 15 September 2010 issue of the journal, in the article by Burns et al (Burns DN, Dieffenbach CW, Vermund SH. Rethinking prevention of HIV type 1 infection. Clin Infect Dis 2010; 51(6):725–731), the Acknowledgments section neglected to identify the source of Figure 1; the model for this figure was developed by Pierre Barker and Nigel Rollins and was first presented at an expert consultation (“Health Systems Performance and Considerations for Implementing PMTCT ARV Prophylaxis Interventions”) at the World Health Organisation meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2008. The article also contains the following errors: In the “Date results expected” column in Table 1, the entry for the “CAPRISA 004” row should be “2010” [not “2010 or 2011”], and the entry for the “iPrEX” row should be “2010 or 2011” [not “2010”]. Also, the reference cited at the end of the first sentence of the “Challenges to HIV-1 Prevention Research” section should be reference 7 [not reference 8]. Last, in the References list, references 43–45 are incorrectly numbered; the corrected reference numbering is as follows:

The authors and the publisher regret these errors.
