Emotions are judgments, I argue again, and analyze in considerable detail what this means. I argue that emotions are spontaneous, prereflective, evaluative (“appraisals”), constitutive, systematic, self‐involved, tied to desires, tied to their expression, not “dispassionate”, not propositional, sustaining rather than initiating, structural rather than disruptive.
