The evolution–creation debate has produced various stances. This chapter uses “boundary theory” to survey them from strict evolutionism on one pole to literal Bible creationism on the other pole. Many shades of evolutionist and creationist solutions exist in between. The key stances are materialist evolution, theistic evolution, progressive creation, and young‐earth creation. The boundaries now include postmodern and New Age views of science.
