Barth’s theology underwent further change between November 1918 and October 1920, in that his process eschatology gave way to the consistent eschatology which would stamp the second edition of his commentary on Romans. The turbulent social-political upheavals during this period such as the Russian Revolution did not have a significant influence on his theological development. More decisive was his reaction to reviews of his commentary, which showed how easily his organological model of eschatology could be misunderstood.
