This chapter presents Hicks's personal ‘Keynesian Revolution’ which pre-dates 1936. The route by which he reached his semi-Keynesian ideas, such as those expressed in his ‘Suggestion for simplifying the theory of money’ (written in 1934 and published in Economica in February 1935), are even now of interest. This route can be related to the tracks which have been followed by much more recent writers such as Patinkin and Leijonhufvud.
