Glover explores the salience and viability of the development of a shared framework for analysing and assessing cultural restraints of women's equality in developing countries by weighing contentions for and against the view that removing such restraints is a good thing. Glover concludes with his belief that some moral values are common and indispensable for all of humanity across all cultural boundaries.
