Rumour is a story passing from one person to one person without an aboriginal authorized relation. Newspapers, however, act as negative copy halfway between fact and correspondence . Newspapers shore up past facts not memories and not involuntary memory. This chapter focuses on how sounds speak to everyone's memory.
