This chapter examines the concept of nontraditional settings and why these institutions have played a critical role in communities of color. It identifies the factors that make people who work in nontraditional settings so interesting. The barriers to collaboration in nontraditional settings and the development of new approaches for practice within nontraditional settings are discussed.
