This chapter discusses the appearances of a number of visionaries of Jewish ancestry claiming to be prophets bearing a message of salvation that was specifically directed at the conversos. The chapter discusses the conversos who relapsed and returned to their Jewish ways, and those whose first involvement with Judaism derived directly from this messianic fervor. It is therefore assumed that among the conversos in the former category, the level of observance would be much higher than that of the neophytes, for they had a storehouse of experience from which to draw.
