This chapter examines the career development of Georges Barrère during the period from 1912 to 1915. In the fall of 1912 when New York Symphony Orchestra's (NYSO) long-time concertmaster resigned, Barrère formed his own Barrère Ensemble. During this period, the ensemble made a series of successful tours across the U.S. However, despite all his entrepreneurial and professional successes, Barrère faced a huge problem in 1915 when he separated from his wife Michelette.
