This chapter describes the demographic composition of VOTF, notably shaped by a lived experience of the Second Vatican Council. Memories of Vatican II and the social change of the 1960s, here related to Pierre Bourdieu’s notion of habitus, helped spawn the mobilization of VOTF and its vision of change. The consequences of age, race, gender, and class in the movement are explored for their ability to portray a representative voice for lay Catholics.
