This chapter summarizes the preceding discussions and presents some concluding thoughts of the author. This study centres around the relation between history, belief, and ritual among the Syrian Christians in a neighbourhood in the town of Kottayam in Kerala. The author has attempted to make people’s voices and their history the base for the writing of this book. She argues that a people’s view of history and religion must be placed in conjunction with a history of the contribution of Christian theology to the debates on pluralism and dialogue. Taken together, a more complete picture of Indian Christianity may emerge.
