This chapter focuses on boundary issues involving the McMahon Line. In Ladakh the boundary has remained undefined. In the north-east of India, however, the McMahon Line, drawn up in 1914, represents the boundary. It examines the diplomatic exchanges and negotiations that led to the Simla Convention in 1949, where a boundary was agreed upn by Tibetan, Chinese, and Indian officials.
