Show Summary Details

This chapter argues that autism involves a substantial deficit of imaginative capacity. It contrasts this view with the metarepresentational theory, against which some objections are offered. It considers some of the earliest signs of autism and suggests that these may indicate damage to a system that is more primitive than the recreative imagination.
