This chapter considers a solution to the puzzle that starts from the conclusion reached in Chapter 4, that experience cannot lack an object. Thus, it takes as given that aspect of the problematic reasoning (that is, of the third stage of the reasoning) which says that, had God intervened halfway through the last five seconds, this object, the object which I am now focused, would be an internal object.
