This chapter considers the extent of the jurisdiction of the World Court to award remedies in those cases where its jurisdiction is derived from an agreement not containing any express provision on this question of remedies. It seeks to answer whether the Permanent Court of International Justice and the International Court of Justice have developed a more coherent set of rules on the assessment of damages and the award of other remedies than was achieved by international law of judicial remedies.
