This chapter discusses the view of man as a divine race, as creations of God for fellowship with Himself. Maurice's view of mankind was largely enhanced by the Unitarians' affirmation of Christ's humanity. In the Unitarian view, Christ is seen as a human, hence affirming the possibility of all mankind to achieve a consummate humanity of Christ. The same optimistic view of man-in-Christ in Maurice's theology is discussed and assessed in this chapter.
