This chapter examines the canon law of Anglican Communion churches covering finance and church property. The overriding principle which emerges in the laws of all the churches of the Anglican Communion is that ecclesiastical authorities are the stewards of church property. The acquisition of church property is the responsibility of national and provincial assemblies while management and control is vested in parish councils and their equivalents. The same arrangements apply in the management of church finances.
