In 1923, Otto published an essay entitled ‘Das Überpersonliche im Numinosum’, later translated as ‘The Supra-personal in the Numinous’, which contained information about his philosophical enquiry on matters of the divine personality. Although this essay was published only as the fifth appendix to The Idea of the Holy, exploring the aspects of this essay would be helpful since detailed scholarly notice of the essay is not available, and this lack of exegesis has to be addressed through thoroughly examining the texts. Also, since Otto's notion of holiness is indeed important for today's theism, we have to be able to draw attention to the relationship of the divine person with the numinous element of holiness.
