This chapter presents some concluding thoughts on the challenges China faces in emulating the success of other East Asian countries, and the strengths and limits of the East Asian Model (EAM). One of the biggest challenges is bringing the political system more into line with the economic system. Other countries may learn from China's experiences and China may be able to learn from their experiences. It suggests that China must do better in many ways if it is to meet the expectations of its citizens and other countries of the world, both rich and poor.
