Chapter 18 discusses the normative dimension of language use and concept possession. It is shown how Wittgenstein's discussion of rule‐following develops the ‘open question’ challenge in such a way as to lead to the Normative view. Concept possession, it is argued, consists in grasp of epistemic norms.
