In recent years various philosophers have expressed views on how to analyse ‘good‐for”. Chapter 7 is devoted to a discussion of some these views, and how they affect the analysis offered in this work. In particular, Chapter 7 addresses the views of Thomas Hurka, Donald Regan, Connie Rosati, and Michael J. Zimmerman. Moreover, it is explained to what extent, the notion of personal value discussed in this work coincides with the notion of good‐for advocated by these authors. An important topic in this chapter concerns the precise relation between welfare and good‐for.
