This chapter explores differences in learning between students with strong versus weak OLCs. The chapter examines their learning experiences as well as some of the consequences of these experiences. Specifically examined are the learning environments they used, their beliefs about how learning environments affect learning outcomes, critical incidents they have experienced during their time in college and the impacts of these incidents with respect to learning, what they have learned about learning and the learning climate at their institutions. Understanding these learning issues is fundamental to understanding the OLC in general, as well as its differences across schools with different characteristics.
