This chapter provides a brief overview of school based anti-bullying prevention and intervention programs. There is general agreement that the most effective prevention and intervention anti-bullying programs must target multiple levels throughout the ecological system, including individual students, peers, the classroom, the whole school, parents and the wider community. Accordingly, over the past two decades numerous systematic and researched prevention and intervention programs have been implemented in countries throughout the world, with the aim of decreasing and eradicating bullying in schools. The effectiveness of these programs, however, has been inconsistent. This chapter provides a brief overview of the rationale for whole school and other anti-bullying prevention and intervention strategies (e.g., school climate, curriculum, peer-led, restorative justice, etc.). Case examples are provided.
