Under-the-Radar Bullying: Religious Bullying and Bullying by Teachers

Show Summary Details

This chapter discusses two types of “under-the-radar” bullying—religious bullying and bullying by teachers and other adults. It considers the nature and extent of religious bullying in U.S. public schools, its legal and moral frameworks, and prevention strategies. It then moves to a discussion of bullying by teachers and other adults in school, why there is a paucity of research and knowledge on teachers who bully students, and the educational and emotional consequences for students who are victims of teacher bullying. It concludes with recommendations for increasing knowledge of teacher bullying and strategies for preventing this form of bullying in schools.
