Show Summary Details

This chapter explores the roles of Tantra and Yoga. It considers the argument that Crowley's practice of magick can be clarified if one tries to understand features of it against the background of Tantra and Yoga, such as the hidden aspects and powers of the human body as explained in tantric theory. This chapter also takes a look at the tantric spiritual techniques of “transgression” and “decadence”, which can be used to understand the spiritual crisis Crowley went through from 1920 to 1923.
