This chapter considers briefly how objects participate in a transnational order of representation that utilizes them toward multiple ends, depending on the audience and context for the representation, and in a way that distinguishes them from a more territorial representation of the Sikh. This allows for multiple readings of Sikh objects, and multiple occasions for their postcolonial “lives” with precolonial references, to come into being.
