This chapter examines how Robert Schumann promoted Bach's organ works as the editor of the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik. Schumann personally reviewed organ recitals and editions of organ music containing works by Bach, and he published reviews and full-length articles by organist-colleagues of his in which Bach's organ works were prominently mentioned. One such colleague was Eduard Krüger, who corresponded with Schumann about his passion for Bach's organ music and who once visited Schumann in Leipzig. During his stay, Krüger played various Bach organ works for Schumann and heard Schumann's wife Clara play one of them on the couple's piano.
