This final chapter considers how scholars in religious studies might critically respond to the challenge posed by postmodernism's radical skeptical thought by proposing a pragmatic test that one can take to test one's findings and theories with regard to the subject of religion. This critical discussion also includes a look at the necessity of reflexivity and the place of ordinary knowledge for the study of religion in a cross-cultural context. The chapter concludes with a critical review of the science of religion and the notion of world religions.
