Show Summary Details

This chapter examines how ownership rights are transferred or conveyed. It deals primarily with chattels, though from time to time it also considers documentary intangibles. The discussion deals with consensual transfers between willing parties to a bilateral transaction and rules of law by which ownership rights transfer from one party to another. The most dominant category of consensual transfers is the passing of property under a contract of sale of goods. The chapter also considers gratuitous consensual transfers and transfers by operation of law.
