Stone, John Timothy (07 September 1868–27 June 1954), Presbyterian pastor and educator, was born in Stowe, Massachusetts, the son of Timothy Dwight Porter Stone, a Congregationalist minister, and Susan Margaret Dickson. He graduated from Amherst College in 1891. Following graduation from Auburn Theological Seminary in 1894, he served at the Olivet Presbyterian Church, Utica, New York, from 1894 to 1896. In 1895 he married Bessie Parsons; they had three daughters. He then was pastor at the Presbyterian Church in Cortland, New York (1896–1900), and at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland (1900–1909)....
