Painter, pastellist, draughtsman. Portraits.

Acquel studied under Staal, and entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1846. He had a particular interest in drawing and pastel work. Acquel first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1848, contributing a drawing based on Murillo's Mary Magdalene. He showed two further portraits in 1866 and 1868.
