Born 29 May 1841, in Oppido Mamertino (Calabria); died 13 October 1893, in Florence.

Sculptor. Groups, statues.

Salvatore Albano gained attention as a child for sculpting Christmas cribs. In 1860 he went to Sorbille's studio in Naples, and then to the academy under the direction of the sculptor Tito Angelini.

He earned considerable success in 1864 with the marble group Conte Ugolino
