Painter.

The son of a guardsman, Antropov began working at sixteen under the tutelage of various Russian and foreign artists including A. Matveyev, M.A. Sakharov, U.J. Vishnyakov and L. Karavakk, also known as Louis Caravacque. He invited Rotari, who was summoned to St Petersburg in 1747, to be his mentor. Antropov helped execute paintings in the Anichkov
