[not available online]Gerardo Murillo left for Europe at a very early age, with the help of a government scholarship. In Italy, he moved in Marxist and anarchist circles. In Paris, he associated with the avant-garde artists of the time. He returned to Mexico in 1903, bringing back new ideas: Impressionism and Fauvism.
