Born 6 July 1783, in Metz, in 1773 according to some sources; died 1821, in Ghent, committed suicide.

Engraver.

A former soldier who subsequently took to aquatint engraving, a process to which he contributed several technical innovations, François Aubertin worked in Dresden, Berlin, Paris and Ghent, engraving work by Berchem, Paul Potter, Carle Van Loo, Dietrich and others.
