Engraver (etching/burin), draughtsman.

Benoit Audran the Elder was the second son of Germain Audran. He began studying engraving with his father, and came to Paris aged 17 to perfect his craft with his uncle, Gérard. He entered the Académie in 1709 and became a councillor ( conseiller)
