Sculptor.

John Bacon the Elder began his studies at the Royal Academy in 1758. His first significant work was a statue of Mars. He went on to execute many monuments, such as the one to Mrs Draper in Bristol Cathedral, those to William Pitt the Elder in the Guildhall
