Born c. 1686, in 1694 according to some sources; died 23 December 1739, in London.
Painter, engraver.
Believed to be the son of Pieter van der Banck; painted predominantly portraits, several of which were reproduced by J. Faber. Johan van der Banck was also an accomplished caricaturist and illustrator who, among other things, illustrated Lord Carteret's translation of Don Quixote.
