Born 31 August 1768, in Aubusson (Creuse), in 1767 according to his death certificate; died 1 October 1809, in Lyons.

Painter, draughtsman. Natural history (animals, birds, botanical subjects, insects), still-lifes.

Barraban was a pupil of Malaine. From 1798 to 1806, he exhibited paintings on porcelain in Paris, and won a gold medal in 1804. In 1807, he was appointed
