Louis Bausil settled in Perpignan. He was a friend of the painter and writer Louis Codet and of Étienne Terrus. He painted mainly luminous landscapes of the countryside and coasts of French Catalonia. He also worked on the coast of Normandy. His work was praised by Apollinaire.
