Born in Amboise (Indre-et-Loire), baptised 11 February 1604; died 16 January 1692, in Paris.

Painter.

Grandson of Matthieu the Elder, and son of Matthieu the Younger, valet de chambre to King Henry IV, Charles Beaubrun studied painting under his uncle Louis, who trained his cousin Henry at the same time. The cousins worked together extensively. Charles started out as a member of the Académie
