Michel Béguine studied with Dumont and Aimé Millet. He often took part in exhibitions outside France, for instance in Chicago, Saint Louis, Brussels and Munich. He was a member of the committee and the jury of the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris and was made a Chevalier
