Painter. Military subjects, genre scenes.

Son of the painter Joseph Louis Hippolyte Bellangé. Studied under his father and also received instruction from Picot. The first paintings exhibited by him in Paris were of military subjects, including : Defence of Magenta, together with scenes from the battle itself; Colours of the 91st at Solferino (1863); Battle of Palestro
